About Lipe Art Park:
Lipe Art Park is an intriguing blend of public art projects, outdoor venue, and recreational space, sprawling across approximately 2 acres in the city’s Near West Side Arts District. Established on June 1, 2007, the park’s goal was to transform an urban vacant lot into a vibrant space for community engagement and creative expression. Over the years, it has hosted seasonal exhibitions and temporary installations. In 2025, Lipe was acquired by the Syracuse Parks Department making this the only official art park in Syracuse.
About FLAP
Friends of Lipe Park (FLAP) is a volunteer organization whos’ mission is to promote increased community engagement and usage of the Lipe Art Park by advocating for art events and art projects within the park. For the annual call for new temporary artwork in Lipe, FLAP works with the Syracuse Parks Conservancy, the Syracuse Parks Department, and Syracuse Public Art Commission to make this happen. Funding is supported through CNY Arts, Tomorrow's Neighbors Today, and the Delavan and Gear Factory’s Open Studio fundraising efforts.
